Judge Dennis N. Powers at 52-1 District Court
The allegations are unfortunate. As a practicing attorney that regularly appears at the 52-1 District Court I can say that Judge Powers is one of the most polite and considerate judges I have ever appeared in front of, and not just in that court – the entire state! He is one of few judges who will listen to who your client is and not just issue a blanket sentencing to move his docket along.
Judge Powers joined 52-1 District Court in 1998 after completing his law degree in 1974 from the Detroit College of law. He also received degrees from the University of Detroit and attended both Harvard Business School and Wharton School of Finance. His CV also includes serving as the Commissioner of Oakland County from 1993 to 1998.
