GFL Environmental presents plan to expand the Arbor Hills Landfill (wxyz.com) — A proposed 91-acre expansion of the Arbor Hills Landfill could affect Northville Township's Steeplechase neighborhood, where residents already complain of strong odors and health concerns. GFL Environmental says the plan meets county standards and includes new odor controls and a wetland preserve, but Washtenaw County officials and local homeowners are still reviewing long-term impacts before any formal permit can move forward.
2. MIGCA girls golf rankings for the week of Sept. 7, 2026 (theoaklandpress.com) — Northville's girls golf team has climbed to the very top of Michigan's Division 1 rankings this week, leading a strong field of programs statewide. For local fans, it's a clear sign the Mustangs are serious contenders as the fall season unfolds, with several other metro Detroit schools also making the statewide lists.
3. 6-year-old Northville boy reported missing with his mom is found out-of-state (audacy.com) — A 6-year-old Northville boy who was reported missing after not being returned to his father has been safely found in Wyoming. Family members had rallied the community for help after the pair were last spotted on a Flock camera in Northville, and the child's father says an anonymous tip and alert police work led to their reunion.
4. Yoga and goats go together at this farm in metro Detroit (michiganpublic.org) — Goat yoga sessions are running every Saturday morning at Maybury Farm in Northville, operated by the Northville Community Foundation, through the end of October. Anyone 9 and older can register online in advance, choose how much goat interaction they want, and enjoy a playful, outdoor yoga class that often sells out quickly. Expect a true farm environment, right down to curious goats climbing on backs.
