Stallions Flag loses offensive battle to Orioles, 33-41
On Saturday, October 6th, the Northville Stallions Flag Football team met the Livonia Orioles at Livonia Churchill High School.
The game started with the Stallions receiving the ball. Luke Parrinello was the first of many Stallions to carry the ball. Soon after, Angelo Rodriguez took the snap and handed the ball off to Isaac Pace, who ran it into the end zone. The Stallions could not convert the extra point, so the score stood at 6-0.

On defense, Sam Stathas and James Redwine had key tackles, but the Orioles were able to score and covert the extra point to take the lead 6-7. With 1:35 left in the 1st quarter, Luca Prior ran in a touchdown and Evan Deak capped it off with the extra point. The Stallions had regained the lead, 13-7.
In the 2nd quarter, despite key tackles by Cooper Hoffman and Nathan Jones, the Orioles scored again, making the score 13-14. On the next Stallions possession, Aaron Jeremias carried the ball for a significant gain. Unfortunately, there was a turnover on downs and the Orioles took over on their own 45-yard line. The Stallions played strong defense, with tackles by Robbie Schuckel, Layth Kakish, Michael Terrill and Alex Casagrande, but the Orioles were able to score again to bring the score to 13-21.

In the 3rd quarter, Walker Curtis, Grady Zoroya, Drew Rankin and Ben Thakady each advanced the ball to set up a rushing touchdown by Max Anderson. The Stallions could not convert the PAT and the score was 19-21.
In the 4th quarter, despite key stops by Angelo Rodriguez, Evan Deak, Luke Parrinello, and james Redwine, the Orioles scored but could not convert the extra point. The score stood at 19-27. Sam Stathas was the next Stallion into the end zone, bringing the score to 25-27. The extra point attempt was no good. Unfortunately, the Orioles also scored again and the score was 25-34. In the 5th quarter, they scored again and brought the score to 25-41.
In the 6th quarter, the Stallions came back strong. Behind blocking by Devin Shaffer, Grady Zoroya carried the ball into the end zone. The 2-point conversion was good. And that’s when time ran out, with a final score of 33-41.
