Genealogy for Beginners

Learn the basics of researching your ancestors and creating your family tree.  You will be taught how to chart a tree, understand vital records, and discover the wealth of information contained in census records, with an introduction to software.

Experience hands-on research online with help from genealogy experts.  A limited number of computers will be available for your use or you may bring your own laptop (must bring your library card).  If you plan on working with another person on your computer you will be counted as one person when you sign up.

This class is presented by the Northville Genealogical Society and will be held at the Northville District Library.  Space is limited and reservations are required.  Call 248-349-3020 to hold your place.  The class is free of charge and open to the public.  Bring your own lunch.

Saturday, March 8, 2014  10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
