Beyond Belief is once again 'Sharing the Joy of Music'

Beyond Belief Senior Theatre & Chorus will present their newest original variety show, “Thank You for the Music” at Northville’s historic Marquis Theatre on September 25 and 26. Beyond Belief is a “well-seasoned” troupe composed of nearly forty singers, dancers, and performers ranging in age from 55-101 years young who desire to share their love for the performing arts in the Detroit Metro area.

This traveling non-profit musical group has been performing together for many decades and welcome new members to join us in our mission to “Share the Joy of Music”. The group’s prevailing belief is

“If you can walk, you can dance. If you can talk, you can sing.”

They believe that people of all ages benefit from participating in musical activities as either a performer or audience member. Beyond Belief has entertained larger audiences in public concerts at the Novi Middle School, Genetti’s Hole-In-The-Wall in Northville, Two Muses Theatre in West Bloomfield. Though, they love performing for large audiences, they also share their talents by touring senior living communities to provide a special type of music therapy with those who are not capable of attending the theater. They are honored to have Ruth Anne Zimmer of Plymouth serve as their Music Director and Accompanist.

Beyond Belief is pleased to be performing at The Marquis Theatre - a historic Northville landmark. It’s a beautifully restored Victorian building with nearly eighty years of rich history and tradition. The Marquis Theatre staff has a long history of producing quality theater opportunities for children and is excited for the opportunity to host this cast of senior adults. Marilee Dechart, artistic director of Beyond Belief, says “This variety show features, music, song and dance through the decades. Each cast member is encouraged to share their talents. We will share music from many genres with just the right amount of ‘Necessary Nonsense’ and will provide an afternoon that will truly be Beyond Belief!” All funds raised from this production of “Thank You for the Music” will allow Beyond Belief to further their mission to spread the Joy of Music! This amazing cast was honored to share a preview of this production at the Michigan State Fair during Labor Day Weekend.

Performances are Friday, September 25 at 1 pm and Saturday, September 26 at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 the day of the show. Beyond Belief rehearses each Tuesday and Friday at the Novi United Methodist Church located at 41671 West 10 Mile Road in Novi. They are performing at a dinner concert at the church on September 19.
