Dreams Don't Have Deadlines...

 Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, created an audio program called, Dreams Don’t Have Deadlines. The purpose of the audio program is to encourage his readers to never, ever give up on your dreams. It doesn’t matter how old, sick, poor or disconnected you are, there is always time to make a dream come true. Big or small, dreams don’t have deadlines!

The program is about living your dream life now! I know it can be difficult to think this way and many “yeah-but’s” come to mind. You know, “yeah, but I’m too old.” “Yeah, but that could never happen in my lifetime.” “Yeah, but I’m scared I will fail.” The ‘yeah, but’s’ could go on forever!

Today is your day. Today is your children’s day. The bible teaches us that eternity doesn’t start when you die, it starts today! Is there something you have been wanting to do, but don’t have time or resources? Do you feel that a career change is necessary, but feel that you are too old? Do you know someone who’s health is so poor that it may be too late to recommend chiropractic care?

When I listened to the program, I began to think of myself, my family and of course, my practice members. I feel sometimes that my dreams are so big that I will never have time to finish them and will be disappointed. Especially, when things don’t go according to plan. Remember, dreams don’t have deadlines. I began to think of my grandmother who’s health is so poor and it’s too late to make a difference in her life. I believe in making her life better, but she doesn’t. She’s given up. I began to think of my oldest practice member who is 98. She certainly hasn’t given up. She’s dedicated to her weekly adjustments with the support of her loving family. Dreams don’t have deadlines!

What is it that you would like see happen in your life, but you may think it’s too late? Do you want to encourage your child to start a new sport, but there is only one year left of high school? You never know what will happen with a can of urgency!  Do you wish to re-new you wedding vows, but your significant other feels you’re too old? Have you been thinking of going back to school, but feel you’re outdated? Find a way! Have you always wanted to host a foreign exchange student, but figure you don’t have the energy to follow through?

It’s never too late and you are never too old to have a dream and make that dream become a reality. Apply this mentality to your health, relationships or any other aspect of your life. Your eternity starts today and you deserve it.
