Finding your Perfect Reception Site

The reception is a very important part of your wedding. It sets the mood for the evening and also should be a reflection of who you and your groom are. There are so many reception sites to choose from that it can be a little overwhelming. Here are some guidelines to follow when trying to find that perfect site: 

• Talk to friends and family - Ask around about weddings they have attended and really enjoyed, they will be most honest. Once you have narrowed down a few call and make an appointment to check the places out.  
• Talk to your local parks and recreation department - If you're planning on having a wedding in town they can suggest parks, beaches, historical homes, or museums. These places are also often cheaper, especially if they are maintained by the city or county.
• Check out online message boards - You can find great tips just about any vendor or reception site. Lists of things that worked or didn't and how to do things better next time.

• Check out venues online - This is a great way to start your search, don't get too overwhelmed and just start small viewing reception sites in a particular city.
