Northville Cubs 13U baseball Open Season with No Hitter

A brilliant pitching performance led the Northville Cubs 13U travel baseball team to a 7-1 win over the Southfield Cardinals in the Cubs first KVBSA league game.

Ryan Perkins and Alex Gaft teamed up to no hit the Cardinals. Perkins struck out eight batters in three and two thirds innings before turning the ball over to Gaft who completed the no hitter with four strike outs in three and a third innings of work.

The game was tight until the fifth inning when the Cubs padded their lead with four runs to go up 6-0. The big inning came as a result of timely hits by Owen Marshall, Jacob Moody, Perkins, Michael Lionas and Moose Tossounian.

The Cubs played solid defense all game on a perfect weather night at Massey Field in Plymouth.
