Northville Cubs Win Again

Northville Cubs baseball

The Northville Cubs continued their winning ways Wednesday with a 9-7 victory over a tough LCB Black team.

The Cubs moved to 4-0 in the KVBSA travel league behind clutch hitting from Reed VanTiem, Mike Conniff, Moose Tossounian and Alex Gaft. They each had two hits.

LCB came out swinging in the first inning with four hits, including two for extra bases. They were held to only two runs after a line out to VanTiem in right field led to a double play when the LCB runner was caught off first.

The usually solid Cubs defense broke down in the sixth inning allowing LCB to claw their way back into the game. Four runs brought them to within one run.

VanTiem scored an insurance run in the bottom half of the frame after smoking a line drive double to the left center gap.

Ryan Perkins shut down LCB in the seventh to preserve the win. The Cubs moved to 12-0 on the season including league, exhibition and tournament games. The Cubs are proudly sponsored by The Northville Sports Den and the Michigan Credit Union League.
