DO...  

• Spend time with your fiancee checking out places you like and making lists of things you really need.
• Register at more than one store.
• Discuss your options with more than one store or online site.

DON'T...  

• Add something you know you won't use just so your guests have a bigger selection to buy from
• Choose items that are really expensive. Choose a wide price range of goods.
• Feel limited to only asking for household goods.
