To List, or Not To List. That is The Question...
Schedules for Personal Home Insurance
Another common recommendation we make for Personal Insurance is for clients to list or "schedule" unique or rare items on your Home Insurance Policy.
Most Home Insurance policies have specific policy limits for (unlisted) items such as jewelry, watches, furs, guns, computers, etc. To properly insure these types of items, we recommends you list them on your policy specifically or under a policy "rider".

The typical items we recommend to schedule or add to a "rider" include jewelry, watches, computers and lap-tops, bicycles, golf clubs, art work (just to name a few).

Some of the main benefits of listing these items separate include:
- Having a specific list of your rare items.
- The items are sometimes allowed broader coverage than being unlisted under the policy.
- They can be listed with no ($0) deductible (versus a high Home Insurance deductible).
- They claim process is easier handle when items are listed.
- There can sometimes be minimal cost to schedule items.
Again, check your own policy for limitations and exclusions.
