During the initial consultation, each new patient will receive a free and private phone consultation with Dr. Sam. Following the consultation, Dr. Sam will design a weight loss program customized to the patient's medical history and lifestyle. Whether a patient needs to lose 10 pounds or more than 100 pounds, they will receive one-on-one support from Dr. Sam until they reach their goal. At Virtual Weight Management, obesity is considered as a disease that requires a comprehensive approach and medical management. Patients are never blamed for their barriers to weight loss. Although the program is online-based, it has the same effectiveness, safety, quality, and privacy as seeing Dr. Sam in person. While many camps operate as profit-driven small businesses, Pine Island stands apart as a 501(c)(3) organization. For over a century, it has provided boys aged nine to fifteen the most meaningful experiences of their lives. On a small island in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes, campers live unplugged—without electricity or running water. They gain the freedom to make meaningful choices, the support of a community grounded in shared values, and enough time away from home to feel both independent and integral to a unique community they help build. Whether your son is shy or outgoing, big or small, Pine Island will challenge him to bring out his best in the simple joys and varied circumstances of outdoor living. All of this happens under the close guidance of our caring staff, nearly all of whom are former campers themselves.
