Classical Bells In Concert to Benefit Paul's Players

Proceeds Benefit Scholarships to Paul's Players Summer Theater Camps for Young People

Classical Bells, widely known as Michigan’s Premier Handbell Ensemble, will present a concert on May 8, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. to benefit Paul’s Players summer theater camp scholarships. The event will be held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 27475 Five Mile Road, Livonia. Tickets are $12 and include a dessert buffet featuring a wide variety of sweets from Livonia bakeries including Elite Sweets, Cantoro’s Market, and Heritage Bakery.

This summer Paul’s Players is offering three summer camps for young people ages 6-18, plus a six-week summer musical workshop of Fiddler on the Roof, which is open to auditions for all ages. “We love doing a family-oriented musical in the summer,” says Pat Hutchison, founder and artistic director of Paul’s Players. “We encourage family members to participate together. Whether it’s onstage or behind the scenes, there are plenty of things for people of all ages to do.”

Classical Bells director, Darlene Ebersole, directs handbell choirs at St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Livonia, and also teaches piano in Canton. “Several of my church choir members and my piano students have been involved in Paul’s Players summer camps in the past few years and have thoroughly enjoyed them,” she notes. “Classical Bells is happy to participate in an event to raise funds so more kids can enjoy these programs.”
