Meet Kerry Fannon, a Livonia resident who was diagnosed with not one, but two rare tumors. One was so rare that she traveled to Washington, D.C. where the “Master” removed her tumor. After surgery, the pathology report revealed a second, very aggressive tumor.
Enter, Dr. John Krauss, U-M medical oncologist who reviewed Fannon’s record and recommended an intense chemotherapy treatment. She started treatment at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center in Ann Arbor and the remainder of her treatment closer to home at the U-M Canton Health Center.
It’s been a long journey in a short time. But Fannon is back to being more active and is working on lifestyle changes. “I’m given an 80% probability to live 20 more years without this disease,” she says.
