Crime Report: Cars, Motorcycles Reported Stolen

Here are police reports from Northville Township's Public Safety Department.

Motorcycle stolen

On Monday, a motorcycle was reported stolen from the 42000 block of East Northville Place Drive.

A man told that his neighbor told him two men were spotted near his bike and that one drove off on it while the other followed in a minivan. Police patrolled the area but could not find the motorcycle. It had been parked under the man’s apartment carport.

According to the police report, the ignition cylinder had been pried out, with debris left behind, and the cable that secured the bike to the carport had been cut.

Tools reported stolen from garage

A man on the 17000 block of Abby Circle reported to police that a leaf blower and toolbox with tools inside had been stolen from his garage.

The man noticed his garage door was open Saturday morning but dismissed it. Later, he discovered that the items, totaling about $100 in value, were missing, according to the report.

The man told police that the car outside the garage may have been unlocked. According to the police report, he said the garage door opener inside the car may have been used to open it.

Items stolen from unlocked car

A wallet, $400 in cash and credit cards were reported stolen from a car on the 19000 block of Windridge Drive.

The man told police that sometime during the overnight hours of June 8, someone had entered the unlocked car and stole the items from the center console.

Tires slashed

Slashed tires were reported at the apartments on Seven Mile and Innsbrook Drive.

A man told township police that the tires on the passenger side of his car were slashed around 10 p.m. Thursday. The car was parked in front of the apartment, he said.

The man “had no idea who would do that to his tires,” according to the police report. No one was heard or seen around the vehicle.

Car stolen from apartment complex

A man returned home from an out-of-town trip and discovered that someone had stolen his car. The man told police the car had been sitting in the lot in front of his apartment at Northville Woods.

According to the report, the car was not being used and was stolen sometime between June 10 and June 12.

Construction company's truck stolen

A construction company's truck kept at the intersection of Johnson Creek Drive and Brookstrout Lane was reported stolen. Fuel was also stolen from other company trucks, according to the report.

The truck was parked in front of a vacant property, where it was used, and may have been unlocked with the keys in the ignition, according to the report.

The theft occurred between May 31 and June 7.

Man with heroin pipe arrested at Kohl's

A 29-year-old Witmore Lake man was arrested June 7 at after being caught with a pipe he told police was used for heroin.

The man was being searched after an altercation with store security employees, who attempted to detain the woman getting into his truch, who was accused of stealing.

Store security told police they received an alert from the Novi Kohl’s store that a woman had stolen from that location earlier that day. Store security saw a woman fitting that description stealing sterling silver jewelry and a camera, according to the report.

The 30-year-old Witmore Lake woman admitted to township police that she stole from the Novi location and pawned the $1,060 in merchandise earlier that day.

She was arrested and charged with third-degree retail fraud, and the man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Electronics, other goods reported stolen from car

A man reported to police that on June 7, someone stole items from his car, which was parked on the 17000 block of Mission Point.

The man found paperwork that he had left inside his car scattered outside on his lawn, according to the report. When he went to the car, he found that his GPS, radar detector, credit cards, gift cards and other items were missing, the report said. He told police the car was left unlocked.
