Crime Report: Man Arrested for Possessing Drug Paraphernalia While Out with 4-Year-Old Stepson

Thefts from vehicles
- Items were reported stolen from two trucks on the 46000 block of Seven Mile Road, according to police reports. The thefts occurred overnight on May 10, police said. A GPS, iPod and radar detector were reported stolen.
- A resident on the 47000 block of Manorwood Drive reported to police that sometime in the early morning hours of May 6, a GPS, knife and MP3 player had been stolen from the resident's car, according to township police reports.
- A Livonia man reported May 5 that someone had stolen cameras and camera equipment from his car in parking lot, according to township police reports. He told police he was in the store for less than half an hour, and when he came back to his car, he found it unlocked. According to the report, he discovered the items were missing when he returned home.
Missing items, money reported stolen at assisted living building
According to township police reports, items have turned up missing in resident rooms at during the past few weeks. Also, about $300 was reported stolen from a maintenance office, according to police. The reports said the thefts occurred between May 1-13, police said.
Seven Mile trespassers arrested
Three Royal Oak teens were given citations for trespassing at the vacant psychiatric hospital on Seven Mile Road, according to police reports.
An officer spotted a car parked in a lot near the hospital around 3:30 a.m. May 15. Using a thermal imager, the officer spotted three people and stopped them, the police report said. The three were male teens who had cans of spray paint and knives in their possession, according to the police report.

They were given citations for trespassing and a June court date in the 35th District Court, police said.
Police stop turns into illegal immigration case
Police spotted a suspicious vehicle near in the area of the Seven Mile psychiatric hospital, where people have been known to steal scrap items, according to the police report. The officer noticed that the windshield was broken and pulled the car over, the report said.

The driver told police he had no identification, according to the report. Then he gave police three forms of identification, including an expired license, the report said.
He was arrested and his car was towed. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) search indicated that the information he had given police was false and that man was an illegal immigrant, the police report said. ICE took over the case, but not before the man was cited for obstruction, driving with an expired license, no proof of insurance and an equipment violation for the broken window, according to the report.
Stepdad arrested at Cass Benton Park on marijuana charges
A 27-year-old Farmington Hills man was arrested at Cass Benton Park after police said they discovered he was smoking marijuana while playing disc golf with his 4-year-old stepson.
About 5 p.m. May 10, police approached the man, who appeared to have disposed of something from his bag, the police report said. When officers approached, they asked the man for permission to search the bag and found a marijuana pipe with residue, the report said.
The man told police he no longer had any marijuana, the police report said. He was arrested and cited with possession of drug paraphernalia and is due to appear in June at the 35th District Court.
Police kept his stepson at the station until he could be picked up by his mother, the report said.
