A summary of police reports from March 23-April 1.

Officers arrest two, find cooler with scale, baggies, marijuana
A Northville Township Police officer was patrolling the business area around Five Mile and Haggerty roads on March 25 when he came upon three vehicles in a gas station parking lot while it was closed.
As the officer approached, according to police reports, one of the vehicles began pulling away, and he pulled it over. Immediately, the officer could smell "the stong odor of marijuana," the report said.
The vehicle's two occupants – a 19-year-old Southfield man and an 18-year-old Farmington Hills man – denied having any marijuana in the vehicle but eventually produced a bottle of medical marijuana, according to the police report. They said it did not belong to either of them, the report said.

The two were arrested. Officers searched the vehicle and found a cooler with a variety of items: a scale, a grinder, rolling papers, plastic baggies – and 19 grams of marijuana. This prompted the officer to tell the driver that "it was looking like he was dealing," the police report said.
Eventually, the Southfield man told police it was his cooler. Both men were arrested and charged with violation of the Controlled Substance Act. They later posted $300 bond.

Laptop stolen
A man on the 42000 block of Knollwood Court reported to township police that his laptop had been stolen sometime between the night of March 28 and the following morning.

Officer corners, arrests man accused of taking liquor
While on patrol around 7:30 p.m. March 30, a township police officer saw a man dressed in black running through the parking lot of the Meijer store at Haggerty and Eight Mile roads.
According to the police report, the officer then spotted Meijer store security pointing toward the nearby bank parking lot where the man had allegedly fled. The officer learned from store security that the man was accused of stealing two liquor bottles from the store before fleeing and pushing a family out of the way in the process, the report said.
The officer circled the area and found the man hiding by Dumpsters, the report said. The man then ran toward the Firestone store, where he was cornered, the report said. The officer had him at gunpoint, and the man surrendered, according to the report.
The man then began complaining of chest pain and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital, police said.
