Crime Report: Pumpkin Theft Thwarted, Car Break-ins Reported
The following information was supplied by the City of Northville Police Department and Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Pumpkin thief caught, pumpkin returned
City police spotted two men running near Dunlap and Center streets, according to police reports. One of them, a 25-year-old Northville man, was seen carrying a pumpkin. When approached by police, the man said he stole it from the Halloween display of a downtown business. He was released at the scene and the pumpkin was returned.
Woman arrested after attempting to cash fraudulent check
On Oct. 1 a woman was arrested at Comerica Bank on Haggerty Road on charges of attempting to cash a fraudulent check, according to Northville Township police records.
The 21-year-old woman from Westland is accused of having cashed bad checks at Comerica in the past, according to the police report. She was arrested and charged with uttering and publishing. She is due to appear in the 35th District Court in mid-October.

Man stealing liquor caught
A 19-year-old Northville man was arrested on Sept. 30 on charges of attempting to steal liquor from the CVS store on Six Mile and Haggerty roads.
According to township police reports, the man set off the security alarm and returned the bottle of liquor he concealed. He then ran away and was caught by police. He was arrested, charged with retail fraud and is due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.

Bicycle reported stolen
A bicycle was reported stolen from the 19000 block of Crystal Lake Drive. The bicycle was left in the walkway of the owner’s house on Oct. 1 and was missing the next morning, according to police reports.
Man arrested after caught shoplifting
A 52-year-old Detroit man was arrested on Oct. 2 on charges of stealing from the Home Depot on Seven Mile and Haggerty roads, according to township police reports.
Store security told police the man was seen putting items into his pockets and leaving the store without paying.
He was arrested on charges of retail fraud and on an outstanding warrant out of Farmington Hills. He is due to appear in the 35th District Court in mid-October.
Vehicle tire, rim reported stolen
The left front tire and rim were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 42000 block of Success Drive on Sept. 27, according to township police reports.
The lugnuts were left behind and there was some damage to the fender when the vehicle fell after the tire was removed, according to the report.
Purse reported stolen
A leather purse was reported stolen from a car on the 16000 block of Meade Road on Sept. 24. According to police reports, the purse is valued at $200.
Car break-in reported
A car on the 160000 block of Franklin Road was broken into on Sept. 29, according to police reports.
Credit cards, a GPS and other car accessories were reported stolen. The glove box was emptied. There were no signs of forced entry, according to the police report.
