Crime Report: Shoplifters Caught at Northville Meijer Stealing 'Magic: The Gathering Cards'

The following are police reports from Northville Township's Public Safety Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

Card game stolen from Meijer store

  • store security reported to Northville Township police that on Aug. 23 a man was caught trying to steal "Magic: The Gathering" playing cards. The 17-year-old Northville man was apparently seen concealing the cards, valued at about $36 per set, on his person. 
  • A 25-year-old Farmington Hills man was seen by Meijer store security attempting to steal a set of the same card game on Aug. 25, according to township police reports. The man was spotted swapping the price of two sets of the cards with UPC price tags for lesser valued items including a paint brush and a crate. Both were valued at about $3.99. He then proceeded to the self scan register and tried to leave the store before security stopped him. He was arrested and is scheduled to appear before the 35th District Court in September. 

Car damage reported

A man on the 19000 block of Northridge Drive reported to Northville Township police that his car had been damaged on Aug. 22. 

The man told police that he found inches-long scratches on his front bumper over the span of two days.
