License plate stolen

A man on the 20000 block of Silver Springs Drive reported that while his car was parked in his unit's lot his license plate was stolen sometime between 3 p.m. Jan. 2 and 9 p.m. Jan. 3, according to township police reports.

Car break-in

A woman on the 19000 block of Northridge Drive reported her car window had been broken and a small clutch purse, hidden under the seat, had been stolen. The woman said the incident occurred while her car was parked under her apartment's carport overnight Jan. 5.

Shoplifter gets away from Meijer

Friday, a man was observed by store security grabbing four bottles of Ciroc Vodka, walking to the diaper aisle and hiding the bottles in his jacket. Security officers approached the man outside the store. The man ran away and hopped into the passenger side of a nearby car. The driver drove off onto Eight Mile and got away. According to township police reports, officers were unable to determine the owner of the car.

Attempted home break-in

A man on the 16000 block of Country Knoll Drive was almost the victim of a robbery Monday. According to township police reports, the home's alarm went off around 1:30 p.m. The alarm company called the owner, who canceled the call because of previous false alarms. When he returned home, he found a kitchen window shattered, which had set off the alarm. Police concluded the alarm must have deterred the would-be burglar.
