Crime Report: Stonewater Subdivision Trespasser Arrested, Man Found Sleeping in Stolen Car

Stonewater Subdivision trespasser arrested
Three 18-year-olds were cited for trespassing, and one was arrested, on June 7 after they allegedly jumped off a bridge in the Stonewater subdivision into a lake around 3 a.m., according to Northville Township police reports.
“NTPD has responded to numerous complaints of non-residents trespassing int the area of the last few years in particular, many complaints have been about groups of juveniles or young adults jumping off the Peninsula Park bridge into the lakes,” according to police reports.
One of the teens ran away from the officer who came upon the scene. Another nearby officer, using thermal imaging, located him and the teen was ultimately arrested for obstructing police and trespassing, according to the report. He posted a $100 bond. Police detected what they believed to be the smell of alcohol on two of the teens. They were cited for being minors in the possession of alcohol.

“The Stonewater Homeowners Association has requested NTPD take strict enforcement action against trespassers in their subdivision,” according to the report.
Alleged Kohl's shoplifter arrested
A 17-year-old Northville Township woman was arrested and accused of trying to steal makeup and jewelry from on Haggerty Road.

According to township police reports: the teen took the items from a display rack and put them in her purse. She was stopped by store security, who called township police. She admitted to it. She “stated she stole the items because she was stupid,” according to the report.
She was arrested, posted a $300 bond and has a late June court date in the 35th District Court.
Woman arrested on outstanding warrant
Northville Township Police pulled over a woman on May 31 at around 10:20 p.m. who missed a turn and hit a curb near Seven Mile and Silver Springs roads, according to the police report.
During the traffic stop, police discovered the 44-year-old Detroit woman had an arrest warrant and a suspended license, both of which the woman acknowledged, according to the report.
She was arrested, charged with driving with a suspended license and posted a $130 bond. Her car was towed and she was given a mid-June court date in the 35th District Court.
Motorcycle reported stolen
A resident on the 18000 block of Ridge Road reported to township police that his motorcycle had been stolen sometime before the afternoon of June 5.
It was parked in front of his house next to his driveway with the keys in the ignition, according to police reports. The red 1999 Honda Shadow VLX had a GPS mounted on it.
Homeless man arrested while sleeping in stolen car
While patrolling the parking lot at on Haggerty Road in the early morning hours of June 4, a township police officer saw an unfamiliar vehicle and ran its plates through a police database.
The results showed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Clinton Township. Police approached the vehicle and ordered out anyone inside. A homeless man, who was laying in the backseat, came out and was arrested, according to the report.
The vehicle was towed and Clinton Township was alerted that it had been found.
