Daughter playing lacrosse=fortune 500 executive??

Do you know that more than 3/4 of working woman feel that sports participation benefitted their careers.  It is no accident that 80% of the female executives at Fortune 500 companies identified themselves as former "tomboys" who played sports.  Here are some of the written and unwritten rules of sports that girls want to learn and experience before entering the workforce.
1. Teams are chosen based on people's strengths and competencies rather than who is liked or disliked.
It's life!  This seems like a simple concept, yet woman have traditionally emphasized human relationships rather than skill competencies.
2.Succcessful players are skilled in practicing the illusion of confidence.
"Fake it until you make it", my friend says this to her daughters!  Confidence or the illusion of confidence in a pressure situation is practiced constantly on the sport field. In the workplace, confidence (or illusion of it) is essential as you present yourself and your ideas.
3.Errors are expected of people who are trying to do new things.  The most important thing is never make the same mistake twice.
On the sports field, mistakes are how you learn, they are acknowledged and expected to be fixed through practice.  When you make a mistake, you don't take it personally, you fix it and move on.  This is a behavior essential in the workplace!
So get on a team to practice what can make you a success in the business world.
Girls Lacrosse, it's the fastest growing sport in the country combining aspects of a variety of sports.  Register for Fall lacrosse at Stacey's School of LAX, go to www.staceylax.com for fall/winter lax classes for K-12th grade girls.  Spring is our season, if you want to play in the off season, check out Westside Women's Lacrosse club, www.miwwlc.com.  Combine Stacey's School and Westside..and you will be an Fortune 500 executive before you know it!;)
