Disney's "The Little Mermaid" Comes to Northville High School's Stage
• Four shows taking place April 21 - 23, 2016 • Meet and Greet the Characters after Friday's show and the Saturday Matinee
The Northville High School Drama Club will make a splash this spring with its production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Four shows will take place April 21 - 23 at Northville High School (45700 Six Mile Rd., Northville, 48168).
In this stage adaptation of Disney’s 1989 film, a curious young mermaid, Ariel, gives up her voice in search of human love on dry land above. She agrees to bargain with a very powerful sea witch, Ursula, in exchange for legs and a chance to spend time with Prince Eric. A magical adventure takes place featuring endearing characters and creatures both under the sea and on land.
"The Northville High School production of The Little Mermaid definitely captures much of what audiences love about a Disney story...but we have added our own "flare" in our telling of the well known tale,” said Tracy Spada, Northville High School Drama Club’s director who also serves as resident stage manager at Northville’s Tipping Point Theatre. “We think outside the box! It is an absolute must see show!"

Northville High School’s Drama Club is a group that allows students to explore and expand their creative side and pursue their passion for the theatre. It is run by students and encompasses all things theatre: acting, singing and dancing, designing, costuming and building sets, lighting and audio, as well as marketing and promotion. Students are able to learn their skills from professionals who direct and design the sets. With a growing club of more than 80 students, the productions attract thousands of attendees each year. The club stages three productions each year: a fall play, a student-run winter production, and a spring musical. Details on all NHS Drama Club performances are available on www.nhstheatre.com.
