This is my first blog for Kidpreneur, a Northville-based startup I found to educate tweens about entrepreneurship and the latest technology including coding and programming. You may ask why I'm fit to blog and run such a creative organization ... the answer is that I'm not really sure. Besides starting two software companies, a tech-meetup to support the SE Michigan startup community and having kids of my own, that's about it.
Since it's my first blog, I would like to share 10-yr old Isabella Page's "Dream" video because sometimes kids can explain things much simpler (www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6YirE8TFyk). Isabella was awarded the opportunity to present last week at the TEDxKids in Dallas, TX because of this short, to the point video about her dream of starting a company.
BTW, if this sounds more like an advertisment than a blog, then I apologize. I plan to share my philosophy about kids, entrepreneurship and technology. For instance, parents emphasize on the three A's (athletics, academic and artistic skills) early in their kid(s) childhood. These are important in teaching kids exercise, education and entertainment (the three E's). But it's just as important to embed the trait of being confident to express yourself and your ideas which I believe entrepreneurship (the 4th E) does. Entrepreneurs are not just business owner but creative individuals that can create something out of nothing and can get people excited about them and their idea(s). Like anything in life, we want a good balance so including entrepreneurship skills into the mix can only be good. I also believe that it's never too early to start innovating.
I'm not sure how often I'll be blogging but you can always catch me twittering at @ttrandet.
