Fairytale themed walk/run in Northville raises funds for local charities

WHAT

Community Choice Credit Union invites the entire community to dress-up in their favorite fairytale attire and running shoes for The Royal Run, a fairytale-themed charity walk/run. All proceeds will be donated to four local charities: Forgotten Harvest, the Michigan Humane Society, the Miracle League of Michigan and Vista Maria; as part of Community Choice’s seventh annual Give Big Weekend, in which team members volunteer together to better the community.

DETAILS
The Royal Run, a Superfly Running, Inc. event, will include a 1k fun run/walk and a 5k run/walk. All participants will receive a royal cape and finishers’ medal and are encouraged to arrive dressed in fairytale attire. Light refreshments will be provided and children can enjoy pony rides and a petting farm.

Registration is open to everyone and available at www.theroyalrun.com. Participation requires a minimum donation of $15 to 45 depending on event choice. Community Choice encourages runners to raise more funds by creating a personalized fundraising during registration and requesting support from family and friends.

ABOUT GIVE BIG WEEKEND

Community Choice’s Give Big Weekend will occur September 25 – 27, 2015. Along with the Royal Run, Community Choice team members will be making fleece blankets for charity, cleaning up a local park, participating in a warehouse project with Humble Designs and holding a blood drive for the American Red Cross on September 28 at the Credit Union’s headquarters in Farmington Hills.
