Criminal and driving records can be accessed by companies. In fact, many employers do a background check prior to hiring a new employee, and that includes a criminal check.  Any convictions, including DUI convictions, can affect an employer’s hiring decision. 

Many employers check driving records, especially if a job requires you to drive company vehicles. The employer may have concerns about safety, their insurance rates and liability.
