DDA invests in new downtown Northville commercial
At the Downtown Development Authority's meeting last week, director Lori Ward updated the DDA board on its latest marketing effort—a Comcast commercial.
The commercial is tied in to the HGTV showing of Cash & Cari, partially set in Northville's store. It airs during the show's new episode on Monday nights. You can view it on the DDA's Facebook page.
Ward said the commercial airs in three markets: Farmington-Novi, Manchester-Milan-Saline and Northville-Canton-Plymouth.

The commercial promotes downtown-area shops and costs $126 per week to air.
Ward said that the popularity of the show is already attracting outside traffic, some of which is from the area and some of which is from out of state, especially on the weekends.

Movies at the Marquis attendance down
Part of Ward's report to the DDA board included info that attendance is down for Movies at the . The weekend classic movie showings are not attracting as many people as before.
The next movie to be shown will be Guess Who's Coming To Dinner? starring Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. Tickets are $3 and are available at Sincerely Yours on Center Street.
