Local 4 Reporter Lauren Podell Lends Support to "Good Grief" Golf Outing

New Hope Center for Grief Support will hold its 15th Annual “Good Grief”® Golf Outing on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at Tanglewood Golf Club in South Lyon. This year will be the fourth year that Podell has been involved as emcee for the event, which raises money to support New Hope’s grief support programs for adults and children.

“One of the reasons why working with New Hope has become a tradition for me is because this group is truly the definition of ‘people helping people,’” explains Podell. “We’ve all been touched by loss, it’s something we can all relate to but not all of us know how to heal.  New Hope wraps their arms around people who need it most and gives them strength.”

Podell, who will golf in the outing as well as serve as program emcee and auctioneer, supports New Hope’s mission of providing hope and healing at no cost to grievers through workshops, seminars and age- and loss-specific support groups. “I am honored to be a part of the event and am lucky enough to say they’ve accepted me and my husband into their family.”

The cost of the outing is $115 per person until August 2 ($125 per person after that date). Non-golfers can also attend the “Gulf Coast” themed dinner and auction for only $35 per person. Visit New Hope’s website for more information about the golf outing.  To register, call New Hope at 248-348-0115.
