Man Arrested on Charges of Driving While Intoxicated

The following arrest information was supplied by the Northville Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Northville Township police arrested a man 2:20 a.m. March 7 on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol near the intersection of Seven Mile and Haggerty roads, according to a police report.

The officer observed the vehicle cross over the center lane and continue driving left of the center lane of Seven Mile Road until nearly Maxwell Road, according to the report. The officer then noted that the driver was posting about 55 mph in a 45 mph zone heading eastbound on Seven Mile Road, west of Haggerty Road, for about a quarter of a mile, the report said.

The officer stopped the vehicle and noticed an odor of intoxicants coming from within the vehicle, the report said. When the officer asked the driver if he had been drinking, the driver said he had four to five Bud Light lime beers between 10 p.m. March 6 and 1:48 a.m. March 7, according to the report.

The man was arrested, handcuffed, searched and taken to the Northville Township Police Department, the report said.

He has an 8:30 a.m. hearing on April 17 at 35th District Court.
