Man Charged in March Accident that Injured Several People

Jere Law of Livonia turned himself into police after a warrant was issued for his arrest earlier this month.

A Livonia man who is suspected of causing a , has been arrested on charges of drunk and reckless driving by Northville Township police.

Police say that Jere Law, 55, caused an accident that sent three people in another car to the hospital. According to township police records, Law is accused of driving while drunk across the center line on Haggerty Road near Eight Mile Road on March 27. Police say he hit the other car head-on.

One person was airlifted to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor from the scene and another two were sent to Botsford Hospital.

Law has been charged by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office with two felony counts of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, and two counts of reckless driving causing serious injury.

His arrest warrant was approved and issued on July 1. According to records, he turned himself into police soon after.

According to comments on a by the people injured in the accident and their families, the extent of injuries was serious. One person in the car commented that, "I am doing alright, cant walk but slowly re learning."

Another wrote, "I was in the rear of the rendevouz - really sore but feeling much better."
