UPDATED: McKindles and Darga Elected to Northville City Council
In the mayoral race, Christopher Johnson, who ran unopposed, received 914 votes.
Newcomer and incumbent have won seats on Northville's City Council in Tuesday's election.
With a total of 652 votes in both precincts reporting, or about 35.5 percent of the vote, McKindles won a seat on the City Council. Darga won with the most votes, a total of 731 in two precincts. That amounts to 39.88 percent of the vote.
finished with 446 votes, or 24.33 percent of the vote.

Freshman councilman elected, as Bingham retires from council
McKindles, who was at the on Tuesday night awaiting results, thanked voters and said he looks forward to serving "such a wonderfully civic-minded city."
A priority for McKindles will be expanding wifi Internet connections in the downtown area, he said. He added that he would also like to work with Wayne County officials to improve the quality of the intersections at Eight Mile and Center roads and Seven Mile and Sheldon roads.

He will join council members Darga, who won re-election, and Michele Fecht and James Allen, whose terms expire in November 2013.
McKindles seat became available because council member Doug Bingham did not seek re-election. McKindles thanked Bingham, who he said encouraged him to run for the seat.
"I'm real pleased," Bingham said, as he awaited the results Tuesday night. "I think he's a super guy. He's a good fit for the job."
Bingham said he felt he was leaving his seat in good hands.
"I'll miss being involved and knowing what's going on and being in the position to make decisions and vote on things," Bingham said.
Johnson re-elected as mayor
Christopher Johnson, who ran unopposed for the office of mayor, garnered 914 votes, which is 97 percent of the total votes. Almost 3 percent voted for write-in candidates.
"I'm deeply honored and humbled that the community has this kind of faith in my leadership," he said.
