Music, Creative Play at Living & Learning
Music, Creative Play Sparks learning for special needs kids! Music & Mingle for preschoolers starts soon!
Northville’s new enrichment center for special needs children, Living & Learning, is offering a 6 week therapy preschool class on Fridays starting March 4. Two hours of music therapy, speech, literacy and creative play! Small class sizes.
More Details: Our session begins March 4th, 2016 and ends April 8th, 2016. The group will be led by Kelly Garland-Egeler, Board-Certified Music Therapist and Amanda Celeste, Speech Therapist. In addition, we may have practicum students and art volunteers helping us. The purpose of this 6-week group is to provide a multimodal approach to therapy incorporating music, speech and language, literacy, and creative play to address the social, communication, engagement, and peer play skills of children. Music is a vehicle to language development and a great motivator for children!
During group, we will engage children in a variety of songs, instrumental play, creative/cooperative/dramatic play, games, art, and movement activities centered on a thematic unit.
