NHS Competitive Dance Teams Excel at Local Competition

The Northville High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Competitive Dance Teams proudly represented NHS in their first competition of the 2015-2016 season. On November 14th, the teams competed in the 2015 Great Lakes Dance Championship held in Clarkston, Michigan. The Varsity Team earned 1st place in Medium Varsity Jazz and 2nd in Varsity Hip Hop, while the Junior Varsity dancers secured 1st place in JV Hip Hop and 8th in JV Jazz. Congratulations to the dancers and to Varsity Coach, Sarah Benish, and JV Coach, Katy Pop!

The teams are also excited to announce their annual dance clinic for dancers age 8 through 13. Mark your calendars for the clinic on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Piazza Dance Company in Northville. It is a fun way to learn some new dance moves, including a dance number that will be performed in the dance team’s upcoming Showcase on January 15, 2016 in the Northville High School Auditorium!
