Northville Cubs Walk To A Win

The Northville Cubs put 10 runs on the board in the first two innings of Wednesday night’s matchup against the Southfield Cardinals as the Cubs breezed to a 16-3 win.

The 13U Cubs are now 7-0-1 in league play as they continue to stay on top of the KVBSA’s Trammell Division.

Reed VanTiem and Michael Lionas each had two hits while the Cubs drew 14 walks against a shaky Cardinals’ pitching staff.

Eric Rice threw two shutout innings on the mound without giving up a hit. Rice struck out the side in the second inning. Ryan Perkins, Alex Gaft and Jacob Moody each pitched one inning in the five inning shortened game. In all, the Cubs pitching staff gave up three scattered singles.

Overall, the Cubs moved to 21-2-1 for the season. The Cubs are proudly sponsored by The Northville Sports Den and the Michigan Credit Union League.
