Northville Pom Team Members Selected for All Star Team

Five Northville Varsity Pom Team members will perform at the 2013 Holiday Bowl Game and Parade in San Diego, CA, after being selected for the elite Mid-American All Star Team.

Isabella Corsi, Anna Fillar, Maddy Holloway, Isabel Inchaustegui, and Jocelyn Tucker will join other talented pommers from around the midwest to perform in other special events throughout the year, including America's Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit.

The girls were selected while participating in the Mid-American Pom summer camp in June along with the rest of the Northville High School Varsity and Junior Varsity pompon teams.

Twelve teams competed against each other over the course of four days at Davenport University in Grand Rapids and both Northville teams brought home awards.

The varsity team earn first places in speed learning, kickline, original routine, and second place for the senior kick routine. The team also received a Grand Champs trophy for first place in all major categories.

JV also had a very successful few days, earning a showmanship award and a first place in original routine.

“These awards were earned by giving outstanding performances at each nightly competition," said varsity head coach Malory Massoian. "The girls learned a new routine every day at camp and competed it that evening.”

Both Varsity and JV will have a very busy couple of months leading up to the State competition in February, which will be held at a major university

“Varsity will be competing in a friendly local competition, the Spartan Invitational, held at Stevenson High School in Livonia on Aug. 24," Massoian said. "We will also be competing at the Badgerette Competition held at Brighton High School, and Northville High School will be hosting this year’s Mid-American Pompon Regionals Competition."
