Northville Crew Back on the Water

Northville Rowing Team in back-to-back regattas

Northville Crew returned to the water in back-to-back regattas hosted by Skyline Crew at Concordia University on the Huron River. Varsity and J.V. rowers competed in 8 events in the Floodtown Scrimmage held April 18th against 7 other crew teams from Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.

To the Huron River Sprints held April 25th, Northville brought 9 novice rowers to their first regatta along with the J.V. and Varsity teams. Northville competed in 11 events, with 3 boats qualifying for the finals. Bella Wood, Luca Baufield, Zoe King and Natalia Soss with coxswain, Jackie Cole placed third in the women’s light weight four finals with a time of 6.24.69. Ashwath Muruganand placed third in the men’s varsity single finals with 5.48.67. Coach Russ Miller was eager to finally get his team on the water, after waiting to the end of March for their practice site at Ford Lake to thaw. Miller will take his crew team to Wyandotte Boat Club this Saturday to compete in the 2015 Wy-Hi Regatta.
