Northville Teachers Appreciate Big Hoop Victory

Tonight was teacher appreciation night for Northville Basketball, and the teachers got the chance to return the favor, as the Mustangs put on an impressive show.  Livonia Stevenson was the unsuspecting opponent as the home squad exploded for a lopsided 56-33 win.  "It was a great start to a big week," said Principal Rob Watson, on hand to receive his appreciation award, "It's outreach week at our school, and our hoopers reached out for a win to get things started!  I was thrilled by our cheering section and their enthusiasm"
Coach Todd Sander was able to utilize his entire team tonight, and the team responded well to the exciting atmosphere. "Nine players contributed to the scoring tally tonight,"  Sander pointed out, "and we had a bunch of personal bests for steals, deflections, and effort.   I hope we can keep up the intensity for the remainder of the week."
Andrew Meacham had another steady night with 16 points and 14 rebounds.  He scored the first 8 points of the game and had another thundering dunk in the 3rd quarter before he took a seat to enjoy the show.  Andrew Stevens was strong again tonight with 9 points, and Nathan Kellum contributed 8 of his own.  Dave Morrissey and Ryan Roberts had 6 each.  On the defensive end, Dan Simms and Dan Baldwin combined forces to hold normally high scoring Noah Campbell to 6 points on the evening.
It was another trifecta for the boys program as both the frosh and JV teams continued their winning ways.  If you missed the game tonight, you can catch more action tomorrow at South Lyon High as the Mustangs try to stay lodged near the top of the division standings in hopes of procuring a great seed for the tournament starting net week.  On Friday, they return to the corral for the final regular season match-up as South Lyon East visits.  Friday is also Senior night when we will be honoring our five seniors and their parents.  Our annual Coaches vs. Cancer night is Friday, so bring your dollar to help in the fight.
Lots of great hoops action this week.....come out and join the fun!
