Northville Township Police Catch Man Accused of Robbing CVS
Police say they caught the man as he attempted to flee the scene with cash and checks.

A 22-year-old Southfield man was arraigned today on charges that he robbed at gunpoint a CVS store on Saturday.
Police caught and arrested George David Vanderburgh Saturday after receiving a call around 10 p.m., while the robbery was in progress. He is accused of stealing cash and checks from the store at Haggerty and Six Mile roads. Police say he was carrying a handgun.
Vanderburgh tried to flee the scene by car but was blocked in by police cars, according a township police press release. The stolen items and gun were recovered by police.

According to the press release, Vanderburgh was arrested and charged with the following:
- Armed robbery, which is a felony and punishable by up to life in prison
- Fleeing from police, which is a felony punishable by five years imprisonment
- Carrying a concealed weapon, which is a felony punishable by five years imprisonment
- Felony firearms, for using a firearm while committing a felony, which is punishable by two years imprisonment
Vanderburg was arraigned today in the 35th District Court in Plymouth before Judge James Plakas, according to the press release. Bond was set at $500 and a preliminary hearing was set for Dec. 16.
