Nursing Assistant Arrested in Beating of 62-Year-Old Man

A nursing assistant from Westland has been arrested in connection with beating a patient at a Novi nursing home, according to a Detroit Free Press report.

William Thomas Hill, 28, was charged with two counts of third-degree vulnerable adult abuse after he was accused of hitting a 62-year-old Wixom man March 11 at the Whitehall Healthcare Center, the report stated. Whitehall employees reportedly stopped the attack and reported the incident to police.

Hill is being held on $11,000 bond, and his next court date is Wednesday. He could face as much as two years in prison if convicted, the report added.
Other families with patients at the nursing home also have made abuse accusations against the facility, according to a 7 Action News report. Novi police confirmed it has an ongoing investigation into these claims, the report stated.
