Pedestrian Hit By Car Near 7 Mile and Haggerty Road in Northville

The pedestrian was transported to Botsford Hospital with serious injuries.

A 34-year-old Livonia man was hit by a car near 7 Mile and Haggerty Road, west of Seven Mile, around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to Northville Township police.

Police say that alcohol was a factor in the accident and that the pedestrian was intoxicated. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported by the township's fire personnel to Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills.

The driver, a 61-year-old Livonia man, suffered minor injuries. He had no passengers in the vehicle.

Police said in a press release that "alcohol was not a factor with the driver of the vehicle."

According to the release: The driver was traveling west on Seven Mile Road, when the pedestrian walked into the westbound lanes.  The pedestrian hit the headlight and windshield area of the driver's Pontiac Vibe.

It is unclear whether any charges will be made in this case.
