Ridge Wood Elementary - First Time participation in the Macomb Science Olympiad, 2013

The students of Ridgewood showed an excellent team effort and outstanding performance during their first time participation in the Macomb Science Olympiad, 2013. Well done Ridgewood! It was very challenging to be among the 1000 young student participated from 45 different schools under K6 category and 3000 people who were in the audience. Ridgewood won as a team to secure a position under Top 10, standing 8th position overall in 2013 Macomb Regional Science Olympiad. This reflects their dedication and team work representing the Ridgewood School. The individual events which Ridgewood secured under top 10 places in the Macomb SO are : Anatomy, Bridging, Ecology Rangers, Force & Motion, Rock Hound, Weather or Not, Wildlife Safari and Zowie Estimation. In three other events (Grasp-a-Graph, Charged-up etc ), Ridgewood placed within top 15. Many Thanks to Ridgewood principal and the entire Staff, the dedicated efforts of the Head Coach, our event coaches, and the Students representing RW, for working hard over the past weeks in addition to regular academic activities, delivered an amazing performance. Our Head Coach include Mahesh Ganesan, and the event coaches include Prema Gargapati, Siva Gargapati, Yogita Neole, Nirmala Kesamneni,Swathy Vasudevan, Shahid Kagal, Rajesh Narayan, Seshu Gonelle, Thea Conway, Joe Conway, Rafi Sheikh, Manju Akash, and Venkat Deshpande. Special Thanks to Liz Borzym (& her entire family!), Amerman's Head Coach & Science Olympiad cheerleader, for all her guidance over the past few months, encouragement and energetic advice that we have been able to kick off the SO program at RW this year. Looking forward to be more successful in the Science Olympiad events in the coming years. Go Ridgewood!
