When natural disaster (Typhoon Haiyan) crushed the Philippines earlier this month, Your United States Navy mobilized and sent the USS George Washington and its Strike Group which includes 23 Naval vessels and about 7000 personnel. They have been on station to supply aid; ranging from food, medicine and water to engineering personnel to help rebuild.
What you may not know though...this is now the about the 13th United States Navy international relief mission to the Philippines area since 1970.
