After Oakland County authorities told Armstrong they had evidence possibly linking him to indecent exposure reports in South Lyon, he reportedly confessed he was the man wearing hospital scrubs shown in Novi Target surveillance video exposing himself to the female shopper around 7:30 p.m. on July 14.
The South Lyon cases occurred between April 15 and June 25 in the area of Pontiac Trail and Nine Mile Road, where witnesses reported a male suspect was masturbating in his Dodge Dart while driving. The suspect remained in his vehicle, but masturbated within view of teenagers, South Lyon Lt. Chris Sovik told the Observer & Eccentric.
When Armstrong was identified as a suspect in the South Lyon case as well as the case in Novi, victims in the Green Oak Township case came forward, police said.
Each count of aggravated indecent exposure carries a maximum two-year prison sentence, if convicted. The simple indecent exposure charge carries a maximum penalty of a year in prison.
