Residents at Fox Run Champion Education Through Student Scholarship Program

Fifty-four local high school seniors preparing for graduation were named Student Scholars at an award ceremony held May 14 at Fox Run, an Erickson Senior Living community in Novi, Michigan.

These hardworking student employees, who worked as servers and hosts across Fox Run's on-campus dining venues and met the qualifying criteria, were honored for their dedication and commitment. Their achievements are supported through scholarships funded by generous donations from community residents, helping to position these students for continued success. The student employees were each awarded a $14,000 scholarship, plus a $6,000 special Estate Scholarship, for a combined total award of $20,000.

"This award is life-changing for our students and their families," said resident Judi Odiorn.

"Our student employees show exceptional dedication as they balance their academic responsibilities, work commitments, and service to our residents," said Executive Director Ashley Martin. "Thanks to the generosity of our residents, this scholarship program truly has a meaningful and lasting impact on their futures."

To be eligible for the scholarships, students typically work at least 1,000 hours in the dining services department during their junior and senior years in high school. They must achieve satisfactory grades, submit a letter of recommendation for a scholarship from a Fox Run Resident of their choosing, remain in "good standing" as determined by their manager, and plan to attend a college, university, or trade school on a full-time basis.
