2. Novi school bus drivers train for threats, construction, and a new school year (wxyz.com) — Novi Community Schools bus drivers are undergoing enhanced training to handle safety threats, construction detours, and tricky traffic situations as the new school year begins. With support from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, Novi's 30 drivers are practicing real-world scenarios and reroutes from 12 Mile to 8 Mile, while new recruits like longtime resident Christopher Corbett prepare to safely transport students.
3. 'Beaver Deceiver' installed to stop flooding at Oakland University (battlecreekenquirer.com) — A Novi camper was bitten by an eastern massasauga rattlesnake at the Proud Lake boat launch but was treated at U-M Hospital and is expected to recover, a reminder for locals to stay alert outdoors.
