Detectives are still piecing together the timeline and say social media reports of gunshots don't currently match their findings, but the case remains active.
• Metro Detroit Schools Combat Driver Shortage With Pay Raises and Bonus Offers (wcsx.com) — Novi Community School District has raised bus driver pay to $23–$26 an hour as Metro Detroit districts boost wages and bonuses to tackle an ongoing driver shortage. Officials say drivers play a key role in students' daily experience, and districts are recruiting people with commercial licenses or an interest in working with children, even offering hands-on info sessions in nearby Utica.
• 2-0 Salem stonewalls Novi following rocky start (socialhousenews.com) — Novi football fans saw the Wildcats jump ahead on a 66-yard touchdown before Salem rallied for a 26-14 home win on the P-CEP North Turf Field. Despite big plays from Novi standouts like receiver Johnny Woytowich and safety Alex Abler, Salem's balanced offense and multiple fourth-down stops ultimately controlled the game and set up their rivalry matchup with Plymouth.
