1. Motor City Comic Con Announces 'The Closer' Actresses Kyra Sedgwick and Mary McDonnell Alwong with 'The Boys' Actors Jack Quaid and Tomer Capone, to Attend Fall Show! (michiganmamanews.com) — Motor City Comic Con is returning to Novi this November, bringing a huge lineup of TV, film, and voice-acting stars to the Vibe Credit Union Showplace. Novi residents can already buy tickets, compare autograph and photo prices, and even arrange early wristband pickup at the venue. The three-day convention runs November 13–15, 2026, with full schedules and guest lists online.
2. Warren judge faces November trial on 'super drunk' driving charge (macombdaily.com) — A high-profile 'super drunk' driving case involving longtime Warren Judge John Chmura is now set for a Nov. 16 bench trial in Novi's 52-1 District Court. The case was reassigned to Novi and the St. Clair County Prosecutor's Office to avoid conflicts, meaning local residents will see their district court host a closely watched proceeding with regional attention.
3. Marching bands: See what the biggest West Michigan schools are performing in 2026 (mlive.com) — Novi's marching band is once again in the top Flight I group for Michigan's 2026 competitive season, going up against some of the state's largest programs. While this piece spotlights Grandville, Hudsonville, and Rockford shows, it also outlines the statewide schedule Novi will share, from early invitationals to the Ford Field state championships in November.
4. Plenty of movement in Macomb County football rankings (macombdaily.com) — Macomb County's latest high school football rankings highlight Romeo's dominant 3-0 start, but also point to a marquee challenge against top-ranked Detroit Catholic Central, which plays its home games in Novi. While most teams listed are outside the city, Novi fans may be especially interested in how Catholic Central's upcoming showdown could shape statewide perceptions of the program based in their backyard.
