Can't afford medical screenings? Beaumont and SV Temple can help
'Medical Camp' July 14 at SV Temple & Cultural Center in Novi
Many people have sent their kids to summer camp. Now, it is the grown-ups’ turn to go to summer camp. Beaumont Health and the Sri Venkateswara Temple & Cultural Center are jointly hosting a free medical camp from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 14. The temple is opening its doors to the public for this community event.
“Beaumont Health is partnering with SV Temple in Novi to conduct a free medical camp to benefit the surrounding Northville and Novi communities around the temple. You would be surprised to know how many families are in need of help in our surrounding communities,” said Subra Sripada, executive vice president, chief transformation officer and system chief information officer, Beaumont Health. “We are pleased to collaborate with SV temple to host this camp for these families. We share the temple’s motto of service to mankind is service to God, as we strive to deliver compassionate, extraordinary care every day.”
Medical experts will work with “campers” to help them manage their health. Medical camp includes complimentary:

- heart health screenings: total and HDL cholesterol readings; EKG, blood pressure and diabetes
- nutrition and diabetes education
- vision and hearing screenings
- CPR training at noon and 2 p.m.
- bone marrow testing
- mental health screening
- certified financial counselors onsite for questions on Medicaid and general Medicare
