Detroit Mercy distance runner sets personal best during Ypsilanti track meet
Joshua Carolin, a Novi native and Detroit Catholic Central grad, finishes sixth in 1,500-meter run with best 4:06.53.

The University of Detroit Mercy'sĀ Joshua Carolin, a freshman from Novi, set a personal best time in the 1,500-meter run during the weekend's Eastern Michigan University Twilight outdoor meet in Ypsilanti.
Carolin, a graduate of Detroit Catholic Central, finished sixth with a time of 4:06.53, according to a Detroit Mercy press release, in temperatures hovering around 40 degrees. He is the son of Bill and Laurie Carolin and majoring in software engineering.
Teams from Adrian, Concordia (Mich.), Hillsdale, IUPUI, Macomb Community College, Marygrove, Michigan, Oakland, Wayne State, Western Michigan, as well as Eastern Michigan participated in the two-day event.
