2012 Michigan Winter Dog Classic

The 2012 Michigan Winter Dog Classic makes its way to the Suburban Collection Showplace Jan. 19-22.

The Oakland County Kennel Club and Livonia Kennel Club present their four-day All Breed Dog Show. On Thursday and Friday the Livonia club will be represented, and Saturday and Sunday the Oakland club will be represented.

There will be plenty to see and do, including obedience and conformation judging, breed seminars, educational demonstrations, access to more than 100 breeds, and thousands of dogs. Many breeds will be getting ready for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

You'll see Border Collie duck herding demos, police K9 demos, rock-n-roll dog shows, a puppy contest and much more.

Detroit Zoo mascots "Zooper Heroes" Junior Z, Polar Bear and Giraffe will be at the show Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 p.m.

The show runs from noon-6 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Sunday.

Admission is $35 per family (includes 2 adults and 3 children), or $10 per adult, $8 for children 7-12 or seniors 62+. Children 6 and younger get in free. Parking fee is $5.
